Spoiler alert, definitely not 4
Ever since the years that followed the Covid lockdowns during which purchase prices of everything have doubled — the UK was ahead of the curve, but the US caught up quickly — food manufacturers started pushing multipacks into the market like never before.
They seemed like an amazing deal when they emerged, but since then, shrinkflation has hit them too.
In this edition, we’re looking at how many standard Crunchie bars fit into a Crunchie 4-pack.
Now, first, looking at the size of the 4-pack, could 4 standard bars even fit there? Length-wise, yes:
Width-wise it’s more like 3.5 standard bars could fit into the packaging, which was not so before.
Let's open the 4-pack and look inside.
Now, we could go many different ways about assessing how many standard crunchies would fit in a 4-pack, but assuming the same density of products, going with simply comparing weights will give us a good enough estimate.
Are both the same density though?
Well, sort of.
Now, back to weight calculations. 4 bars, 26.1 grams each, that is 104.4 grams in total. And a standard Crunchie is 40 grams.
So, there is an equivalent of 2.61 standard Crunchies in a 4-pack at the time of this writing. Not quite 4.
P. S.
Measurements and calculations are only accurate at the time this article is published. We already had to retake the measurements once after the 4-pack shrunk.
